Betwixt and Between by Linda V

In utero she was a burden

No love could ever fix

Born into uncertainty

She became the thing betwixt

Two worlds apart so separately

A romance left unknown

She begged for love so helplessly

Yet rarely was it shown

In love’s garden, unattended

Grew a stunted child not free

Punished by their malcontent

For a love that couldn’t be

This love child reflected back

His face so clear so clean

The two of them as one

She remained the thing between

Snooze Button by Linda V

Laying in the crumpled sheets of midnight

Stillness hangs heavy on the air

And makes you want to hold your breath

Time is waiting

For you to close your eyes

So that it can be free to fly

And pull you swiftly to morning

The sleep that eluded you then

Now begs for your return

Frustration overcomes you

As the curtains open on a new day

Ten more minutes

Wouldn’t help

But you desire them more than words

And after another long day

Of information overload

The mind races

As midnight creeps upon you

And sleep escapes once more

Surfacing by Linda V

They would be surprised to know

How comfortable the restraints were

Tightened by the grip of lust

In a moment that seems to degrade but uplifts

The spirit of the broken

They would be unnerved to see

Lingering there in the pain

That ache that begs for more

Hard metal against soft skin

So unseen in that serene smile

They would be aghast to hear

Whimpers of delight in the strike

Sound that hangs in the moment

And lingers on the skin

Leaving a trace of itself behind

They would be shocked to learn

What lies beneath the surface

Of the quiet gentle expression

And sweet exterior

Of the one they thought they knew

Electric Lust by Linda V

Electric touch

Across naïve skin

Play the game

Ignore the sin

Dark vibrant gaze

From haunted eyes

That keep their focus

On their prize

The ache of want

Hangs on the air

Thick and urgent

Strips logic bare

The sweat and heat

Rise like a flame

The passion grows

With lust to blame
