She chases darkness like an addict
One foot always in the night
Body twisted staggers
Finds discomfort in the light
Heartbroken from her losses
So many now she’s gone astray
Begging strangers for their pity
All her joy has gone away
Wallows in her misery
A friend who always lends an ear
Shuts out those who love her
And ones who want to end her fear
Every shallow breath she takes
Pulls her deeper to the grave
Never thinks of those around her
She is simply darkness’s slave
